China’s ferro tungsten and tungsten carbide powder prices remain weak adjustment in the middle of September affected by sluggish demand and the pressure from environmental protection and inflation.
In the tungsten concentrate market, considering that the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day are approaching, the supply in the market is limited, and thus mining companies have a strong sentiment to stabilize the market. The high-grade tungsten concentrate price is hovering $17,619/ton.
In the APT market, the pressure on the demand side has not yet eased, and market price is still falling. On September 14, five smelting companies in Jiangxi province jointly issued a notice on the adjustment of APT processing fees. It is reported that the prices of ammonium sulfide and caustic soda have risen by 239% and 176% respectively since the beginning of the year. The sharp increase in the prices of raw and auxiliary materials and the continuous high operation have had a major impact on the production and operation of APT production enterprises. The enterprises have to increase the processing fee to $2,063.5/ton.
