China’s domestic molybdenum price maintained stability in the week ended on Friday, September 17, 2021. Under the weak balance of supply and demand, traders' entry operations are relatively stalemate, which makes it difficult for transaction volume and price to rise.
In the molybdenum concentrate market, the mainstream price is around 2,450 yuan per ton. Although ferromolybdenum merchants are not enthusiastic about receiving goods, they are supported by difficult mining and limited imports, as well as the recent completion of a round of delivery of molybdenum mines. Mine inventory is temporarily low, so the probability of price decline is unlikely;
In the ferro molybdenum market, the overall consolidation operation was maintained. In the first and mid-September, most steel companies carried out maintenance work, resulting in unsatisfactory sales of ferro molybdenum. However, as the National Day holiday approaches, the popularity of steel is expected to increase in the second half of this month;
In the molybdenum chemical industry and its products market, the atmosphere on the market was slightly deserted. Although the end customers basically maintained just-needed purchases, due to the poor performance of the upstream market and the international market, the holders' quotations were weak.
