Classification of Cemented Carbide by composition and properties
Cemented carbide is made of hard compounds of refractory metals and bonded metals through a powder metallurgical process. tungsten carbide (WC) is the main component of cemented carbide, accounting for 70%-97% of the total composition; bonding metal is used to play a bonding role in the alloy, the content is usually 3%-30%, in the process of sintering, it can be surrounded by tungsten carbide powder and tightly bonded together, after cooling into a cemented carbide. Commonly used cemented carbide is divided into three categories according to the composition and performance characteristics: tungsten-cobalt, tungsten-titanium-cobalt and tungsten-titanium-tantalum (niobium). The tungsten-cobalt and tungsten-titanium-cobalt carbides are widely used in production.
1) Tungsten cobalt carbideThe main components are tungsten carbide (WC) and cobalt, and the grade is indicated by the code YG, followed by the percentage value of cobalt content. For example, YG6 is a tungsten cobalt carbide with 6% cobalt content and 94% tungsten carbide content.
2)Tungsten, titanium and cobalt cemented carbideThe main components are tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC) and cobalt, and the grade is indicated by the code YT , followed by the percentage value of titanium carbide content. Such as YT15 said titanium carbide content of 15% of tungsten titanium cobalt carbide.
3)Tungsten, titanium and tantalum (niobium) carbideThis type of cemented carbide is also known as general-purpose cemented carbide, the main components are tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC), tantalum carbide (TaC) or niobium carbide (NbC) and cobalt composition. The grade is indicated by the code YW followed by the ordinal number.Any interested items please feel free to contact:Contact: JuliaMob:+8615920677014Wechat:15920677014Whatsapp/Skype: +8615920677014E-mail:[email protected]
