Rare earth market quotation in China: europium oxide, lanthanum oxide and dysprosium oxide prices continued to be weak on June 21, 2021. In the case of inconsistent negotiations between the supply and demand sides, product prices declined.
However, supported by the increase in production costs and the increased profitability of holders, the downward adjustment of transaction prices slowed down slightly. In addition, due to the recent arrival of high temperature and rainy weather, rare earth smelting companies have increased their mining difficulty factor and reduced their production capacity, which is also conducive to suppliers' firm quotations.
According to customs data, in May 2021, exports of rare earths and their products totaled 9,202 tons, an increase of hundreds of tons from the previous month, an increase of 42.4% year-on-year; the value was US$31.13 million, an increase of over US$10 million month-on-month, an increase of 81.0% year-on-year. From January to May, the total export of rare earths and their products was 42,531 tons, a year-on-year increase of 21.1%; the value was USD 13,536.617 million, a year-on-year increase of 57.3%.
