Yellow tungsten Oxide in Lithium-ion Batteries

In the production of lithium-ion batteries, a certain amount of yellow tungsten oxide particles can be added to the material to produce its electrode, so that the battery can have a higher energy density and can be used in pure electric vehicles.

In recent years, in order to alleviate the global energy crisis and environmental pollution, various countries vigorously promote the switch from fuel cars to pure electric cars. Energy provided for electric vehicles mainly relies on energy storage battery, such as lithium-iron phosphate battery, lithium cobalt acid battery, lithium manganese acid battery and starting point lithium battery. 
The performance of the battery directly determines the performance of the car, so it is a very important component in electric vehicles. However, the frequency of battery replacement affects users' faith in electric cars. Generally speaking, if the range of a certain new energy car is too short, many users will not buy it. Therefore, American chemists proposed that the cathode material of lithium-ion battery can be doped with yellow tungsten oxide, so as to improve the range of electric vehicle and facilitate users' travel.

Lithium‐ion batteries are widely used as reliable electrochemical energy storage devices due to their high energy density and excellent cycling performance. As the cathode material of lithium-ion batteries, the transitional metal oxide has become a potential substitute for graphite. Tungsten trioxide, in particular, has good development potential because it is a very stable oxide and it is environmental-friendly, cheap, and with high capacity. 
Tungsten‐based materials are receiving considerable attention as promising anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries owing to their high intrinsic density, price, and rich framework diversity. As electric cars have been receiving more and more attention, it can be predicted that yellow tungsten oxide is of great importance in the production of lithium-ion batteries, and also significant in the field of electric cars.
